amnesty international, got bangkok to montauk on lock

-lab? hung out a lot, poured some plates, oh yeah took pictures and worked on my presentation which is by the way not nearly done (or started?). somehow I was there until 5. staring at plates takes awhile.
-hung out at Starbucks and was forced to overhear some guy giving a really bad interview. (he said: "I don't think I have weaknesses, only areas I can work on" five times. painful.)
-tutoring, not so bad
-Chinese food with the parents, hunan chicken extra spicy, oh yeah
-went upstairs to work on presentation
-found some good info on my plant in Spanish; read it through and translated
-googled stuff on Chagas disease, iridoids, and bioassays, got bored
-started thinking about life
-decided to stop being so passive, after all it is summer, and life is short.
-started toying with the idea of taking econ next year to keep the options open...
-hey there's 100+ posts on gawker I haven't scrolled through yet ...
-shit it's 12:30 and I still have this presentation to do. I never ever change.

she's so stupid, what the hell were you thinking?

-slow day in lab... can we time lapse two weeks please so my plates can grow out and I can finally see what everything does? and no contamination, thanks. what did I even do today? sorted plates, poured plates, plated some new assays (like, 5), made lists, pipetted some broth to sit overnight for liquid culture. took one picture. somehow this took from 9:30 to 4??? oh well, no one was being productive so I didn't feel that bad about it.
-everyone is talking about Harry Potter now so I am way out of the loop
-drove around aimlessly through Woodbridge and Bethany because I didn't feel like going home
-went to the mall with D and J, spent a bunch of time in Borders and used my gift card on the 3 for 2 deal: The Prince of the Marshes (I'm in love with Rory Stewart), Bel Canto, and The Man of My Dreams. (aiming for a wide range on the serious scale here) lots and lots of books to distract me now!
-did not get to running
-too lazy to straighten my hair these days
-must get through a chapter of MCAT before I get to this sweet reading ...

stealing home

(is what the blue jays did to my messy new york yankees. we lose this game and I call we are doomed for the season -- if we aren't already)

Monday -- Memorial Day
-had burgers and freedom fries with A in New Haven to celebrate the holiday, strolled around campus and said our goodbyes. so sad and so hard to believe that I won't be seeing him for over a year
-tutoring hour, go geometry! I'm relearning high school math and it's great (or, slightly useless...)
-Apples to Apples at D's house, I love nothing more than harrassing his little brother
-45 minutes reviewing basic Newtonian physics

Today, Tuesday
-lab, ugh! can't believe I spent all day organizing, throwing away my (many many) contaminated plates, and plating again ... test plates, assays, what a mess! I can't wait until I can prove inhibition by my bacteria (crosses fingers) and maybe get to throw away a bunch of other plates.
-went to Costco to pick up my new glasses -- light Marc Jacobs frames with translucent blue-green sides. I like. got Vogue and wasted some time reading that...
-still sore from running, will postpone until tomorrow
-I refuse to go see the Yankees until they have a winning record

sweet sunday

-today/this week I get serious about studying! I may make a schedule. today was physics.
-class day in New Haven = swarms of kids and their parents on the streets, and basically no one in the law library. book monitor shift was lonely.
-need a workout schedule to get back in shape. my half-assed run today was pathetic.
-blew off Dan and friends to curl up in my bed with books. what have I become??
